Do you have a hearing problem?

Are you having a hearing problem?

Recently, I had gone to see a Chiropractor and while I was waiting in the waiting area, I read a poster on the wall which noted how Chiropractic first begin. Here is the fascinating story.

“The Chiropractic profession dates back to 1895 when it was discovered by Daniel David Palmer (D.D.Palmer). Palmer was working late one night when a fire engine went by his office. He realized that the janitor who was working did not flinch at the loud noise of the siren. He approached the janitor and soon realized that he was deaf. Palmer proceeded to communicate with the gentleman and it became clear that the janitor had normal hearing all his life until he bent forward one day and felt a pop in his back from misaligned vertebrae. Palmer stated “I reasoned that if that vertebra was replaced, the man’s hearing should be restored,” he wrote in his notes afterward. “With this object in view, a half hour’s talk persuaded Mr. Lillard to allow me to replace it. I racked it into position by using the spinous process as a lever, and soon the man could hear as before.”

I was amazed. Suddenly, I realized a spiritual truth in this. Many don’t have a hearing problem, spiritually speaking, they have an alignment problem. When we look at Abram’s life, we are told in Genesis that God called him out of a place of destruction, while he was worshipping the moon and unaware of Jehovah God. Let’s read the account in, Genesis 12:1-3 (AMP) NOW [in Haran] the Lord said to Abram, Go for yourself [for your own advantage] away from your country, from your relatives and your father's house to the land that I will show you. 2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors] and make your name famous and distinguished, and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others]. 3 And I will bless those who bless you [who confer prosperity or happiness upon you] and curse him who curses or uses insolent language toward you; in you will all the families and kindred of the earth be blessed [and by you they will bless themselves].

We see God told Abram to leave three things, number one, his country, number two his father’s house, and number his relatives. Abram only obeys one of the three things. He leaves the country. He takes his father with him, and also his nephew lot. We have never seen God speaking to Abram again until and three criteria were met. We find in his journey a little later his father dies. So now two of the three are completed. Then in Genesis 13, we find that his nephew Lot and Abram had a problem because of their shepherds and cattle, so Abram asked Lot to leave. As soon as his nephew Lot left, it says, in verse 14 (NKJV) And the LORD said to Abram, after Lot had separated from him: "Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are--northward, southward, eastward, and westward; 15 for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever. 16 And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. 17 Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you."

Are you having trouble hearing from God? Maybe ask yourself is everything aligned in my life. Am I in the place of obedience? Am I in the church God planted me? Am I working at a job that God placed me in? Have I obeyed the last instructions God gave me?
